Max Angus, SWLA

Max Angus is a painter and perhaps best known as a printmaker, producing small print runs of original linocuts.

Each print is handmade and is unique.  In 2007 and 2008 and then again in 2014 her work received awards at The Society of Wildlife Artists exhibition in London.

In 2022 her linocut ‘Oystercatcher’s Awayday’ was selected for and exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition

We currently have a very good stock of hand-made prints by Max Angus and are happy to deliver free across East Anglia

Max writes about her work,

"I maintain a sketchbook to record ideas and the moments in everyday life that could easily be forgotten. In my studio, my sketchbook then becomes the catalyst for my next series of work.  Over the last two years I have been exploring how far I can push a three-block linocut for the maximum effect of an image – aiming to include the distance and detail I believe to be necessary. I also believe linocuts should look like linocuts as they have simplicity of their own style."
